Floor Cleaning Secrets

Begin with vacuuming your linoleum or vinyl floors, making sure to eradicate any spots or stains before you start the process of wet mopping. If you notice any scuff marks, they can be effectively cleared using a pink pencil eraser or an art-gum. When it’s time to mop a new floor, use either warm water alone or a mixture made from 1 cup of white vinegar and 1 gallon of water. Be cautious while using cleaning products or detergents, as they can leave a sticky residue which could attract more dirt.

To clean older linoluem or vinyl floors, try mopping with 2 cups of ammonia in 1 gallon of hot water. Use a nylon bristle brush to lift dirt buildup from grooves and dimples in the flooring. Follow up with a coat or two of acrylic floor wax to help keep the floor clean.
