Floor Cleaning Secrets

Start by vacuuming your linoleum or vinyl floors, ensuring all spots or stains are removed before you proceed with wet mopping. Scuff marks can be efficiently cleaned using a pink pencil eraser or an art-gum. When mopping a new floor, you can use either warm water alone or a solution of 1 cup of white vinegar mixed with 1 gallon of water. Be careful with cleaning products or detergents, as they may leave a sticky residue that could attract more dirt.

To clean older linoluem or vinyl floors, try mopping with 2 cups of ammonia in 1 gallon of hot water. Use a nylon bristle brush to lift dirt buildup from grooves and dimples in the flooring. Follow up with a coat or two of acrylic floor wax to help keep the floor clean.
