Vacuum vinyl or linoluem floors and remove any spots before wet mopping. You can remove a scuff mark with am art-gum or pink pencil eraser. Mop new flooring with warm water only or a mixture of 1 cup of white vinegar and 1 gallon of water. Avoid using detergents or other cleaners that leave a sticky residue that actually attracts dirt.
To clean older linoluem or vinyl floors, try mopping with 2 cups of ammonia in 1 gallon of hot water. Use a nylon bristle brush to lift dirt buildup from grooves and dimples in the flooring. Follow up with a coat or two of acrylic floor wax to help keep the floor clean.
