Attractions of Georgetown

Located about a half an hour north of downtown Austin, Georgetown, a quaint Hill Country town isn’t as sleepy as it used to be. Inner Space Cavern

Located on the south side of Georgetown, Inner Space Cavern was discovered by a Texas Highway Department core drilling team in 1963. Explore a majestic Hill Country cave by the several kinds of tours that are offered at the cave. These tours consist of an adventure tour (ideal for all ages and skill levels) and a wild cave tour to witness the undeveloped sections of the cavern. Visitors can also enjoy the center’s playground, gift shop, and play mining area.

 

The Williamson Museum

Discover the captivating history of Williamson County at The Williamson Museum. The museum exhibits the whole collection of photographs and other artifacts.

 

Jim Hogg Park

Located on the north shore of Lake Georgetown, Jim Hogg Park offers lake access for boating and fishing. More than 140 campsites can be found within the park.

 

San Gabriel Park

Sits on the north shore of the quaint San Gabriel River on the north side of town. This 180-acre natural area is full of 200-year-old oak trees and hiking and biking trails. The park consists of a nine-hole disc golf course, soccer and baseball fields, and recreational center.

 

Historic Downtown Georgetown

One of the city’s main attractions is Main Street Georgetown and the greater downtown area. This beautifully restored historic building has restaurants, fun antique, and craft stores. There are many of the downtown area’s dining and shopping spots are located.

 

 

Georgetown Palace Theater

Attend a top-class musical like Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan, and Legally Blond at the Georgetown Palace Theater. It’s a non-profit performing arts theater of Georgetown.

 

Georgetown Public Library

This fifty-year-old Georgetown Public Library is a vibrant center for the arts has an attached art gallery, concert hall, and coffee shop.

 

Blue Hole

 

Situated on the south fork of the San Gabriel River, Blue Hole is a scenic lagoon bordered by tree-covered limestone bluffs. The park has picnic spots, restrooms, and wading areas. Open from dawn until dusk.

 

Berry Springs Park and Preserve

 

Enjoy some time in the scenic Hill Country and Breathe in the fresh air at Berry Springs Park and Preserve. This scenic area features a 2.5-mile hike and bike trail, picnic facilities, and camping sites.

 

Georgetown Art Center

The Georgetown Art Center showcases a variety of art in its gallery at the downtown square.

 

Grace Heritage Center

It is a former Episcopal Church built in 1881. This Georgetown’s one of the notable building features gothic pointed arches, vaulted ceilings, and a Norman-style tower.
